Durham City is home to one of the most recognisable landmarks in the UK, majestic Durham Cathedral. Together with adjacent Durham Castle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site forms one of the most stunning city panoramas in Europe. A captivating city with winding cobbled streets and a prominent peninsula. Explore the timeless quality of this quintessential old English University City, take some time out with a relaxing riverside walk or river cruise, or soak up the atmosphere with superb cafés, artisan workshops, boutiques, galleries and museums. Days in Durham City are a hard act to follow.
On Saturday we will travel directly to Newcastle, arriving around midday. This afternoon you will have time to explore the city at leisure. late afternoon we will check into our hotel on the edge of the city. This evening will transfer you the short 10 minutes back into the city in order for you to get some food and explore the nightlife.
On Sunday, after breakfast, we will check out of our hotel and travel to Durham. you will have the rest of the morning and afternoon for time at leisure before our return journey home.
